Black. The darkest of colors. A color that may seem heavy and gloomy. But when combined with fluid lines of draping black oozes elegance, airiness and minimalism.
Vibe Johansson brings an alternative angle to simple, sensual styles that question convention. Nothing superfluous is to be found. Cutting right to the bone the simplicity of her designs encompass both classic minimalism and modern draping with a hint of avant garde.
The shapes of the simple silhouettes are complemented by luxurious fabrics such as merino and alpaca wool, cashmere, soft sheep leather, calfskin and silk. The fabrics, which also include another intriguing fabric - neoprene - add texture to the simple color spectrum. With its stiff form neoprene makes for sharp and structured pieces that balances out the draped signature jersey styles.
The fascination with draping and its endless possibilities allows for innovative ways to wear each item, which grants the garments dual wearability. Duality is in the back of Vibe Johansson’s creative mind, when she sets out to design simple, but sublime silhouettes.
Textures and shapes become the focus of the otherwise simple silhouettes. Geometrical shapes in the patternmaking combined with the best quality fabrics make for the understated elegance that Vibe Johansson adds to everyday wear.
Company biography
The Danish-born, Italian-bread designer Vibe Johansson studied fashion design at the Polimoda Fashion Institute in Florence, Italy followed by design technology in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Vibe Johansson presented her first official women’s collection for autumn/winter 2008. Quickly the label became available in selected stores across the world, mainly Europe and Asia.
